In the 15th century, a St Michael's church with a church tower was built on today's Mill Road. In 1672 the church building collapsed and was rebuilt, retaining the 15th century tower. In the 17th century, the Catholic church passed to the Reformed. From about 1685, the Catholics worshipped in a barn church that stood at Heuvelplein / Pater Becanusstraat.
In 1809 the Catholics got their old church building at the Molenweg back. Due to its very poor condition, it was too dangerous to use again and had to be demolished. The demolition took place around 1813, the church tower was preserved.
In 1835, the St. Michael's Church at the Heuvelplein was put into use.
In 1894 the new parish of St. Leonardus split from the parish of St. Michael. Before that split, St. Michael's Church served Beek and Donk; after the split, St. Michael's Church served the faithful of Beek and St. Leonard's Church served the faithful of Donk.
On 27 May 1935, the present-day St. Michael's Church was consecrated in the Kerkstraat. The church was designed by architect H.W. Valk. The Waterstaatskerk was then demolished.
In 1980, a parochial reorganisation took place and the St. Michael's Parish and the Leonardus Parish were merged into the Beek en Donk Parish.
On 22 July 2002, the church building was registered in the national monument register.
In 2015 a new parochial reorganisation took place in which all the parishes of Laarbeek merged into the Blessed Father Eustachius van Lieshout Parish.
