Tough, proud and ready to take on the world. Since 1995, the Guild Brother has been watching over the Dorpsstraat, standing in front of the old trench tree near Het Heuveltje. The statue was offered by guild member Toon Pennings. Sculptor Joep van Hout made a bronze copy of a tambour of the Onze Lieve Vrouwe guild from Aarle-Rixtel. Every now and then the Guild Brother wears a red handkerchief, a teasing gesture from the other guild in the village, the Red Guards. But most of the time, the drummer of the blue schut, as the Onze Lieve Vrouwe guild is popularly known, stands tough on his pedestal. He is dressed in the costume that the 'blue' guild members also wear when they march through the streets of Aarle-Rixtel, with blue dominating of course. The costume was designed at the re-establishment of the guild shortly after the Second World War (1948). The colour blue is owed to the patron saint Our Lady. The image of this is found everywhere in the guild, right down to the plinth on which the guild member stands. Like many guilds, the Onze Lieve Vrouwe (Our Lady) guild has a rich history. It was even founded in 1324 as a church organisation. Almost 700 years later, the footsteps of the guild can still be found, with the Guild Brother as proof.
