Voted the best (family) outing in Brabant several times, this living open-air museum in Gemert offers a great experience for both young and old. The authentically decorated farm (with live, very pettable animals), the cozy village square with craft houses and farms, a country school and a number of working factories make you imagine yourself in the Brabant countryside anno 1900. Located near the birthplace of Father Van den Elsen, founder of several Dutch corporations, the Boerenbondsmuseum is thus literally on the birthplace of cooperative ideas.
Come discover how Brabant farmers lived and learn, for example, how butter and cheese were made. Or as a previous visitor put it, "Great fun for all ages and old-fashioned cozy!"

Approachable and surprising
During the museum season, from March through November, thematic activities are organized every Sunday. Think of a historical parade in the spring, a landscape, herb and nature market at Pentecost, the nostalgic fair in July, harvest day in August and threshing day in October. Or come ice skating during the Winter Square Festival. In addition, you can attend regular demonstrations, learn all about the old farming craft and also bake delicious bread. The low admission and consumption prices make the museum accessible for every purse.

Over 200 volunteers
Besides families with (young) children, the Boerenbondsmuseum receives many 55+ people and seniors. A suitable arrangement is always available for groups of more than ten people. This also makes the Boerenbondsmuseum ideal for family outings and staff parties. For example, have a complete program put together with coffee and cake, guided tour, Brabant coffee table and a surprising activity. Think of a covered wagon ride, a tour with "The Good Killer" or one of the many old Dutch games. All interspersed with that well-known Brabant conviviality, provided by a hospitable team of no less than 200 volunteers.
Because of its location on various cycling and walking routes, it is also perfect for a multi-day stay in Brabant.

Opening times
