Private cemetery and national monument, usually not open to the public, only on certain open days
Final resting place in green surroundings
The private cemetery is located in a forest, surrounded by a moat with a wrought iron entrance gate. Hendrik Wiegersma had this private cemetery built in 1942. It is located in a park-like setting with lots of greenery and a beautiful pond. The site is called 'Het Ven'. Can be reached from the Schooteindseweg via the Rijntjesdijk.
Monumental gravestones
The gravestones of Hendrik Wiegersma and Petronella Daniels were both designed by Hendrik himself and edited and provided with text by his son Pieter Wiegersma. The stone by Wieger (son of Hendrik and Petronella, 1923-1941) was also designed by Hendrik, but executed by the Delft sculptor John Grossmann. Son Wieger drowned during a canoe trip on the Biesbosch near Werkendam.

The stone of Wiegertje, son of Pieter, (1943-1948) was designed and executed by his father Pieter Wiegersma. The boy tragically died while crossing the road at the age of 4. What is special is that Pieter applied the text and reliefs while lying on his stomach in a net that was placed above the stone.
Management
The private cemetery is managed by Brabants Landschap. Open days are held under the auspices of Brabants Landschap.
