Finally it's finally here! The carnival season kicked off with the princes' announcement in the Heidurp in the party hall of the Buurthuis in Mariahout.

After months of silence, smooching, sneaky agreements and secret preparations, the new highnesses are finally allowed to make themselves known to the curious mob. Meanwhile, a lot of people have already been doing a lot of puzzling with the previously given hints. Mailbags full of envelopes with names have reached the chairman of the Heikneuters. But is there a good name among them? They will keep that a secret for a while yet! It will finally be revealed who the Heidurp's highness will be.

The evening starts with the announcement of the new youth highnesses. This is of course very exciting for the children from group 8 who will be leading the polonaise this year.

Then they will first say goodbye to ‘old’ Prince, Prince Rob, in a beautiful and dignified way and thank him for his commitment, sociability and his generous smile! He and his entourage have ensured that the Heikneuters and Heikneuterinnekes have enjoyed a fantastic carnival over the past year. The Pink Blinks, the Pink dance ladies and dance group ‘On F!re’ are also eagerly awaiting to finally show off their new dances. For this evening, CV de Heikneuters has organised a ‘Prinsenjacht’ (Prince Hunt). It will be an evening of music, excitement and conviviality, where one by one the golden suitcases will reveal who will be the new highness of the Heidurp this year! Will the right golden suitcase be guessed? Then, at 11 past 11, the big moment is finally there, which many have been eagerly awaiting for weeks: the unveiling of the new Prince of the Heidurp! A fun festive evening with an exciting and surprising ending.
