Harmony St Caecilia brings liberation back to 2024. In its liberation concert, St Caecilia's grand wind band will reflect on Operation Market Garden, the liberators and the freedom they brought. It promises to be an impressive evening, full of beautiful and moving music and stories of the past.

The concert is in the church in Lieshout and that is no coincidence. Eighty years ago, on 17 September 1944, the whole village was also in the church. At that time, the airborne landings near Son began. For the churchgoers, it felt as if the war was being fought over the church, that's how hard it was going. It was the beginning of the chaotic run-up to liberation. THAT moment in the church, that Sunday the 17th of September, St Caecilia is trying to recall. What did it feel like? What were the Germans doing and how was there resistance in the village?

Since that day, we have been free, but not the rest of Europe. In the past 80 years, war raged on the continent several times. One more line of reasoning that freedom cannot be taken for granted. It cost a lot to liberate Brabant, but the price of freedom is again being paid dearly in other places, which will also be addressed. It promises to be a special evening with beautiful, but also impressive music, solos and special stories.
