If the cork is not pulled out of the hole, carnival in Aarle-Rixtel will not take place. The Stichting Organisatie Carnaval Ganzegat emphasizes the importance of the trio of geese for carnival in Aarle-Rixtel. The three geese are standing on a brick plinth at the Kouwenberg. In 1979 they were placed there on the occasion of the 2 x 11 years existence of the carnival association in Aarle-Rixtel. Meanwhile, the statue is the symbol of carnival in Ganzegat, as Aarle-Rixtel is called during those days. The chief goose puller opens the carnival on Saturday afternoon by pulling a cork from the hole of the geese. Many people come to see this every year. You see that these kinds of traditional things retain their values. The goose trio, as the statue is better known, is not just a symbol for the start of the annual carnival celebrations. The image can be found throughout the organisation. On pins, cards of the chat evenings, the Ganzegatse flag hanging on the facade of the prince and inhabitants during carnival and in a very special place. The sceptre of the prince is a replica of the trio of geese, made by Johan van Bakel.
