Van den Acker Textielfabriek
Everything comes to an end. Even the textile factory of the Van den Acker family, which existed for over two hundred years and was crowned supplier to the court in 2007. The factory has always been owned by family members of founder Johan van den Acker. About ten years later the company went bankrupt. This was not the first time the factory closed down. As early as 1905, a great-grandson of the founder restarted the factory as a steam weaving mill. A good example of powerful contrarianism, then.
