Berkes Hoeve in Gemert
Berkes hoeve is a foundation of the Teutonic Order from the 17th century. The territory of the farmstead is sandwiched between Hoeve Nieuwenhuis and the estate Ter Eyken, both of which are older foundations. The farmstead has always remained the property of the Teutonic Order and in the 20th century was still part of the Gemert castle estate. The current long-gabled farmhouse dates from the 20th century. The old predecessor stood between the current farmhouse and the road. The farmstead remained part of the Gemert castle estates for centuries, even after the dissolution of the Teutonic Order in 1809. The castle estates were then owned by the Van Riemsdijk, Lüps and Scheidius families. Berkes Hoeve is part of the large property complex of the Teutonic Order at Milschot and Ter Eyken in Gemert.
