Calvarieberg De Rips 1936
Calvary 1936
As there was some money left over from a closed sewing circle in 1936, the parish priest decided that a Calvary could be built.
This was done with the combined efforts of the farmers from the Peel who supplied the sand by horse and cart and Cees Hagenaars, among others, who built the unique altar in the mountain.
The statues were purchased and until the late 1960s the cross also featured a Christ corpus.
The altar was used in the annual processions and solemn praise was also held there.
In 2004, a renovation took place and the Calvary was again solemnly consecrated.
