Guy van Rhoon: Paintings
From inspired art director to painter, a delightful switch! Guy van Rhoon creates his paintings in complete creative freedom and you can see it, you can feel it.
These works are more than a work of art. They are all invitations to let go of control, to find beauty in the unexpected. You are reminded every day of the power of the untamed, of the freedom of letting go.
What is special about his works is that, chaotic as they may seem at first glance, there are hidden details deeper within them-small, delicate nuances that invite you to see your own story in them. For some it is a stormy sea, for others a burst of energy. Each interpretation is unique, and can lead to the most fascinating conversations.
Ben Vollenberg: 3d kiln-formed glass sculptures
Vollenberg, self-taught, started working in ceramics as an artist more than 30 years ago. After a long period, Ben switched to glass-fusing, which is generally 2-dimensional. He started the search for 3-dimensional possibilities and he is getting better at it. After years of experimentation, he creates impressive glass art objects, both abstract and figurative, often geometric and cubist. His works have gradually become more and more ‘oven-formed’; minimalist and abstract. After each line comes a new plane, a new colour, a new tension and combined with stainless steel or iron.
Both exhibitors work from complete creative freedom, it shows.
