Oude Zuid-Willemsvaart
In the past, not trucks, but barges were the most important means of transport for industry. It is therefore not surprising that there are so many factories along the water in this area: the still existing Raymakers & Co factory, the Cocoa Factory and also the now demolished factories next to Karelstein. The Oude Zuid-Willemsvaart connects the Helmond Industrial Area Kanaalzone Noord with Den Bosch and Limburg. On the east side of the Oude Zuid-Willemsvaart, the river Gulden Aa meanders, which later merges into the Aa.
