To prevent the mill from being demolished by the municipality in 1989, the foundation Holten’s Mill was established, which bought the mill for the symbolic price of 1 guilder and restored it to its former glory. On October 24, 1998, the mayor of Deurne reopened the mill as a fully functional grain and oil mill. In September 2008, the former wind-powered sawmill was also fully restored and ready for use again.
