From 4 September to 26 October, Pieter Verstappen from Baexem will show his nature-inspired paintings alongside those of Marinus Bies.

During the ‘Bies Year’, lectures on Marinus Bies and his works will be held at various locations. A book with many images of Marinus Bies' paintings will be published as a lasting reminder. Art historians Ger Jacobs and Peter Thoben and Peel historian Hans van de Laarschot will contribute to this. Marc Bies will provide several guided tours in his Gallery-Museum during the duration of the basic ‘Bies-plus’ exhibition.

In 2025, the 50th anniversary of Marinus Bies' death will be commemorated with a relay of exhibitions in the Peel. Marinus Bies' oeuvre has rightfully given him the honorary title of “painter of the Peel”. In Gallery-Museum Bies in Aarle-Rixtel, works by the Peel painter are continuously on display, but grandson Marc Bies is seizing the 50th anniversary of his grandfather's death for a major retrospective. It will open to the public on Thursday 3 April and run until 26 October.
