Traditional Easter celebration by folklore group Dikkemik
On Easter Day, the traditional Easter celebration will again be held in Aarle-Rixtel on Croy by folklore group Dikkemik. In the Croy forest, they will start by looking for Easter eggs. Those eggs were previously hidden by the Easter Bunny. You might see the Easter Bunny running around for a while. The Easter Bunny symbolises fertility and hides the Easter eggs.
Whoever finds the golden Easter egg is Easter king or queen! All participating children will of course receive a chocolate Easter egg again. To conclude, the traditional Easter fire will be lit. This Easter festival celebrates the beginning of spring. The egg is the symbol of rebirth, new life. The Easter fire closes the winter season and welcomes spring. The fire is part of the great cleansing at the end of winter time that is dispelled with this new light. In short, a beautiful celebration of spring!
