Someren-Heide
Someren is a powerful, Burgundian municipality with almost 20,000 inhabitants in the Brainport region of Southeast Brabant, and is one of 6 municipalities in the Land van de Peel. In addition to Someren-Dorp, the municipality also includes the villages of Lierop, Someren-Eind and Someren-Heide.
Someren-Heide has 1400 inhabitants with the community center De Bunt as its central point. The village of Someren-Heide also includes (partially) the hamlets of Hugten, de Hutten, Heikant and de Vlas. Someren-Heide has a small supermarket and several cozy restaurants where you are welcome for a snack or drink. The 6 municipal monuments in Someren-Heide are also worth a visit.
Someren-Heide borders directly on the nature reserves Boksenberg, De Pan and the Somerensche Heide with the Keelven area with, among other things, the 18-hole golf course De Swinkelsche, so a perfect base to discover this area.
A number of events are organized in Someren-Heide every year, such as the well-known Trunk Sale Day in May, the annual Fair in the Whitsun weekend, the semi-cycling classic Omloop van de Heidehof, the 3-day festival Die Heise Bierfesten in August, in September The Agricultural Days Someren and in October the well-known village quiz Slimste Mens van de Hei.
