Fen Walk in the Stiphout Forests
Walk along the Kamerven, Hoolven, Wasven, Kikkerven, Kromven, Witven, De Meer, and Tweetermansven. The Fen Route is a diverse trail, avoiding long, straight paths.
The Kamerven is by far the largest of the fens in this area. Surrounded by an open heathland of about 15 hectares, it creates a vast open space in the quietest part of the forest. Here, you can still find the Bell Gentian growing.
The other fens are smaller and situated within the forest. Many of them were partially altered during the forestation of the area. These include the Hoolven, Wasven, Kikkerven, Kromven, Witven, De Meer, and Tweetermansven.
Start your route from the parking area at the Witven. Use the GPX file to follow the trail.

In the Footsteps of Van Gogh
During his time in Nuenen, Vincent van Gogh often explored the surrounding areas, including the Stiphoutse Forests and Fens. The Kamerven, the largest fen, is a striking example of the landscape in which Van Gogh worked. It is the only fen in the area that has remained authentic to its original state from that time.
