Cor van de Griendt holds a lecture on the Holocaust and WWII at Heemkundekring De Lange Vonder. The lecture will be held in the Ontmoetingscentrum.

There is much concern about the growing anti-Semitism in Dutch society. Cor van de Griendt has lived in Beek en Donk since 1981. His background includes developing projects, workshops, trainings and methodologies on multicultural society, holocaust education, anti-racism and related topics, such as history Middle East, Islam, etc. Van de Griendt is the developer and coordinator of the Holocaust-related education project ‘Travels for the Future’ and is responsible for the content and organisation of this initiative. In January 2012, he attended ‘Holocaust and Genocides’ studies at the International School for Holocaust Studies Yad Vashem, in Jerusalem. His parents and grandparents lived in Groningen city during WWII. They were true Groningers, tough, closed-minded, hands-off, hospitable and definitely never beat yourself up about it. They were all, to a greater or lesser extent, involved the resistance.

The Heemkundekring asked Cor to tell something about the activities and lives of his parents and grandparents before, during and after the war. He also elaborates on the subject of Genocide and Holocaust. He tries to make the history of Jew-hatred a little clearer. The evening is free for members; non-members pay a small contribution.
