Drie Vliegende Boeken
The artwork Tre Libri Volanti' (Three Flying Books) was created in 2023 by sculptor Jack Wilting from Wintelre. The sculpture was made to honour Arnoldus Arlenius Peraxylus, who was born Arnoud van Eijnhouts in 1510 in the Kerkstraat in Aarle-Rixtel, in Huize ter Smisse.
Arnoldus Arlenius Peraxylus, usually called Arlenius for short, would later in his life become a great connoisseur of the Greek and Latin languages and, in that capacity, devoted himself to collecting and republishing texts from classical antiquity. In Italy, he was considered a very knowledgeable man in that field, consulted and praised by many.

Jack Wilting used the artwork to express different facets of Arlenius' life: his flying off to other countries, the strong bond Arlenius developed with books and a link to his Aarlese family's coat of arms, which features three birds. The artwork is made of the Tuscan marble type Bianco Carrara. Arlenius died in Italy probably in the year 1582.
