Beek en Donk's Eugenie and Ria show their works in ‘t Oude Raadhuis. Almost every Monday morning we sit together painting, chatting about everything that keeps us busy. From profound but also light-hearted humorous anecdotes. This is reflected in their own way in their work. This can be realistich, abstract or with a wink. What is clear is that several emotions intertwine. They experience painting together as inspiring, stimulating and sociable.

Eugenie has a creative education and graduated as a drawing teacher. She did nothing with that for years until painting came her way again about three years ago. ‘Winter in Laarbeek’ inspired and stimulated her to pick up the thread and exhibit. The creation of her work is sometimes a struggle of coincidences and letting go and finding a balance. The materials she uses are ink, acrylic paint, watercolour pencil and oil crayon. This can be seen in her work.
Ria is self-taught when it comes to painting. She has always been a visual artist. It was a nice outlet for her. 2 years ago, she started painting her timeline. The works consist of 12 little paintings depicting important events in her life. Being vulnerable is a challenge she learned while training as a breath coach. They are painted intuitively using a variety of materials. It starts with a self-portrait looking at her life.
