Two men doing an acrobatic feat together. That is the best way to describe the sculpture 'Tweekamp'. The statue stands over a metre high on a cylindrical concrete plinth in front of De Klumper sports centre in Lieshout. Only the name of the artist, Ruud Ringers, and the number 93 stand next to it. The sculpture was commissioned by the former municipality of Lieshout in 1993 and placed next to the sports hall. In that year the new hall at the Papenhoef was put into use. The name De Klumper refers to the old, small gymnasium that was used for this purpose and stood on De Klumper in Lieshout. The municipality decided that a modern, larger sports hall was needed. And the new hall deserved a fitting image. The Haarlem-born artist Ruud Ringers was awarded the commission. Ringers studied at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten Sint Joost in Breda. He mainly made bronze sculptures, just like the Tweekamp in Lieshout.
